The effective use of CPO powers can play an important role in facilitating sustainable economic growth, revitalising communities and achieving net zero. The Scottish Government has confirmed that it will move forward with proposed measures to reform and modernise Scotland’s compulsory purchase system, with a view to implementing the changes in this Parliament. This is a significant moment for compulsory purchase and the delivery of the wide variety of projects it helps achieve, from major infrastructure and regeneration schemes, through to the refurbishment of individual empty homes and derelict properties.
Opening with a Ministerial keynote by the Minister for Public Finance of Scotland, Hannah Mary Goodlad MSP, this conference brings together policymakers, acquiring authorities, infrastructure and housing promoters, regeneration specialists, professional advisers and representatives of affected owners, occupiers, businesses and communities to consider what can be achieved for Scotland through effective reform, and what needs to be done to ensure it achieves a CPO system that is “simpler, more streamlined and fairer for all”.
This event is organised by CPT on behalf of The CPA Scotland, non-members are invited to attend.
